Tell us the history behind South Shore Custom Soaps?

I’ve been in retail for years. I was always into high-quality, natural products like soaps, skincare and personal care products. I then started reading and researching labels, ingredients, and looked into the impact these things could have on our skin and overall well-being. I’ve been researching and experimenting with soap, beauty products, and everything essentials for more than 25 years!
One day, I decided to start making my own soaps and beauty products at home as a hobby with all the knowledge, research and skills I’d learned over the years. The products were so good, I felt that I had to share them with others - and that’s how it all began! I wanted people to experience our truly awesome and skin-nourishing products for themselves, because I used them, and my family members used them, and they loved them so much. These products are natural, handmade, and they actually work too!
What type of products do you provide?
We make soaps (both bar soaps and liquid soaps), skincare products, pet products, men’s personal care essentials, lotions, lip balms, natural perfumes, natural soy candles and handmade crafts such as: home decor, wall art and jewelry. We also make all-natural laundry essentials, haircare products and seasonal crafts like handmade Christmas ornaments & holiday decor.

Why are your locally made products unique?
I’ve always been inspired by unique items myself so I try to create products that no one else has. I’ve always been a think-outside-the-box kind of person, and my creative nature helps me add my own twist into everything I do.
What can the community expect to see from you at the Thanksgiving Pop-up?
Soaps of course! We have several new scents and formulas to display. We will also be featuring some of our new home decor & wall art pieces, as well as shadow boxes, handmade Christmas ornaments, seasonal decor, candles and new handmade jewelry.

What do you love most about living on the South Shore?
The sense of community here is really awesome. I also love all the resources and events, as well as the variety of stores, shops, local eats, etc. And, of course, the beaches! Plus, the people are really nice, and have shown us amazing support throughout this journey we’re on.
